Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information SSLFix collects when you use our SSL certificate analysis tool, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using SSLFix, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Website URLs you submit

When you check a site, we record the URL you entered along with the certificate analysis results (such as validity, expiration date, security grade, and recommendations). This lets us generate your report and power aggregate dashboard analytics.

Email address (optional)

If you choose to receive certificate expiration alerts, we store the email address you provide. Supplying an email is entirely optional and only used to send you reminders related to the certificate you checked.

Usage and analytics data

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use SSLFix. This may include your approximate location, browser type, device, and the pages you visit. This data is collected through cookies and similar technologies.

How We Use Your Information

  • To perform SSL certificate checks and display your results.
  • To send optional certificate expiration notifications to the email you provide.
  • To produce aggregate analytics and improve the tool.
  • To maintain the security and reliability of the service.

Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us operate SSLFix, such as our email delivery provider (used to send expiration alerts) and Google Analytics. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Shareable Reports

SSLFix can generate a shareable link to a certificate report. Anyone with that link can view the certificate-check details associated with it, so only share it with people you trust.

Data Retention

We retain certificate check records and any optional email addresses for as long as needed to provide the service and our analytics. You can request removal of your email address at any time.

Your Choices

  • You can use the SSL checker without providing an email address.
  • You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings. See our Cookie Policy for details.
  • You can contact us to request access to or deletion of your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
